Planning
a winter wedding and want it to be unique/creative? Here a
few of my favourite ideas:
Be Inspired
By The Season!
Use all that nature has to offer - fluffy white snow, barren
trees you can decorate and ice are all inspiration! If it's
near Christmas use already decorated Christmas trees (most
venues decorate their own), homemade baubles and family heirlooms.
Something to
Warm You!
Don't underestimate the power and allure of a roaring fireplace,
hot apple cider, or other warming elemants to make your event
cozy. For room temperate you want more apres-ski than winter-chill.
Seasonal Food
Favourites!
Focus your menu on warm, earthy food that reminds you of being
home for the holidays. Whether a plump turkey, hot chocolate
(alcoholic and non), apple cider, brimming bowls of pumpkin
soup, or spiced coffee cakes... whatever your favourite memories
of winter and home - incorporate them for something special
and memorable!
Winter Decor
Keep it simple! Poinsettas, barren branches hung with fancy
bulbs, small white twinkle lights, pinecones or christmas
crackers in different shaped vases.
A Favor To
Remember
You don't have to buy christmas bulbs (but you can) to say
thank you! Try cookie cutters, small packages of pre-made
hot chocolate (with the marshmallows), or mulled apple cider.
Winter Wonderland
Want everyone to remember your winter wonderland? Brave the
cold and put on your ceremony outdoors or even in an ice hotel!
Provide guests with pre-made (& heated) waterbottles,
blankets and warm drinks for an event thats sure to be remembered!
Frosty Lenses
When it comes to photos don't be afraid to get out there and
make the most of it! Build a cute snowman bride & groom
to pose with, make snow angels, hide under snowcover tree
tops. Your oppourtunities are endless for winter bliss!
Icey Attire
for a Prince & Princess
Think all white and sparkley... add a little shimmer for a
snowflake effect. Or, go bold and add a splash of colour with
a sash or tie! Don't forget a custom cape or fur wrap to complete
your beautiful modern take on a Winter Bride.
Fantasy Florals
For a unique touch carry mistletoe down the aisle! Want something
a lil different? Why not a miniature tree wrapped and hung
over with a christmas bulb on the end (a la Grinch That Stole
Christmas). For something special and longlasting consider
a crystal bouquet! Anything white with silver-green leaves
(ex. eucalyptus) also creates a dramatic and memorable bouquet.
